Our Shabbat morning will feature chanting, poetry, guided meditation, and exploration of the themes of Parashat Mishpatim / Shabbat Shekalim. As we learn lessons from this week’s Torah portion, Cantor Shammash will teach us different melodies, perspectives and modalities drawing on the themes of the parasha in order to energize and enrich our spirits.

Cantor Lizzie Shammash serves Adath Israel in Philadelphia and is a graduate of the Jewish Theological Seminary. Her love of Yoga and Judaism found their authentic fusion through studies with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. She also teaches a free yoga class online every Monday morning for IJS that regularly attracts over a hundred participants. She keeps a busy concert performance schedule and is a member of Divas on the Bima, a touring show she founded with three women cantors.
