7:00 pm Elan Golod and a sneak look at his documentary “Nathan-ism,” about The Only Jewish Guard at the Nuremberg Trials, artist Nathan Hilu, followed by Q&A with the filmmaker
Seven years ago, Rabbi Jessica Spitalnic Mates of Temple Beth El of Boca Raton developed a friendship with Nathan Hilu, by then in his 90s. At the age of 19, as a young American soldier, Nathan was sent guard the Nazis at the Nuremberg trials and spent the rest of his life doing only two things – working in a book store and drawing again and again and again the most evil men in the world, the Nuremberg defendants. Come to hear about why Elan Golod’s new documentary “Nathan-ism” and Nathan’s story is such an important film to help us never forget the Holocaust.
This event is underwritten by Marilyn and Jay Weinberg through Project Nuremberg and the Friends of Music and Arts. The art of Nathan Hilu z”l will accompany this event.
