DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special session with Jeanette Kuvin Oren\, the designer of the USPS Chanukah Stamp\, and a talented Judaic artist. Learn the story behind the Chanukah Stamp designed by Jeanette Kuvin Oren. Chanukah stamps have special significance to our congregation\, since Temple Beth El was the site of the 2016 national Chanukah stamp dedication ceremony. \nJeanette will share insights into her creative process for designing the stamp\, as well as her work on commissioned Torah mantles\, Ark curtains\, wall hangings\, and mosaics. \nJeanette will also lead us in a hands-on paper-cutting lesson. Afterward\, enjoy refreshments and the chance to chat with her! \nSince 1984\, Jeanette has worked with more than 400 synagogues around the world. Jeanette was featured on the acclaimed national documentary series Artful. In 2019\, Jeanette made the Torah covers for Temple Beth El. Jeanette and her husband Dr. Dan Oren are new residents of Boca Raton. \nLimited space available for the paper-cutting class. The events of that tragic day will be presented in a moving exhibit contrasting between light and dark\, and good and evil. Experience the joys of communal song with a participatory Jewish music experience – one-part participatory song session\, one-part spiritual practice. \nRegister\nRabbi Deborah Sacks Mintz is an educator\, practitioner\, and facilitator of Jewish communal music and serves the Hadar Institute as their Director of Tefillah and Music. Both within the beit midrash and out in the community\, Deborah strives to interweave song and Torah as integrated tools in the process of unearthing the grassroots creative spirituality of the Jewish and global people.
