Orit Orbach is an Israeli musician who has appeared as a soloist with many orchestras all over the world including the Israeli Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta and the Jerusalem Symphony. She will share her rhythm and spirit as we all support Israel in this wonderful evening of musical favorites. \n$18 General Admission\n$36 Preferred Admission\n$100 Reserved Benefactor \nRegister\n\nAbout the Performers\nORIT ORBACH is an American-born Israeli clarinetist. She moved with her family to Israel at age four but returned to the US to study at New England Conservatory\, where she won the chamber and the concerto competitions. She studied at Northwestern University near Chicago for a Masters\, also winning many competitions. Orit has played with numerous orchestras and symphonies\, and with many top soloists. Some of the highlight performances included appearances with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (Zubin Mehta conducting)\, Boston Philharmonic\, San Francisco Sinfonietta\, the Northwestern Symphony\, Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra (Nayden Todorov conducting)\, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra\, Israel Chamber Orchestra\, Israel Northern Symphony\, Haifa. She serves as principal clarinetist with the Israel Northern Symphony of Haifa and also as a teacher with Music by the Red Sea – Israel Festival. Orbach has premiered works by major modern composers\, including Krzystof Penderecki and Robert Starer. She served on the jury of the First Krzystof Pendrecki International Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music in 1997. \nDR. SUSAN MOYER BERGERON\, cellist\, is a member of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra. The Lancaster\, PA native has called South Florida her home for over 30 years\, playing in most of the musical ensembles in the area\, notably the New World Symphony (2 seasons)\, the Florida Philharmonic (10 seasons)\, Palm Beach Opera\, Boca Raton Symphonia\, Atlantic Classical Orchestra and the Southwest Florida Symphony. Dr. Bergeron has spent many summers performing in festivals all over the country including the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute and Tanglewood. As a special honor\, she participated in the Solti Orchestral Seminar at Carnegie Hall in 1994 and performed in two special concerts with Sir Georg Solti. \nDR. VINDHYA DEVI KHARE\, pianist and soprano\, received her D.M.A. Degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Miami Frost School of Music with doctoral research in the field of sex hormones and the female singing voice. She has presented her research at the International Congress of Voice Teachers in Stockholm\, Carnegie-Mellon University and many other prestigious institutions. Dr. Khare is the Coordinator of Vocal Performance at Florida International University\, Miami as well as an Associate Teaching Professor. She is also the beloved accompanist for Friday night services and other programs at Temple Beth El. \nMICHELLE AUSLANDER COHEN\, Cantorial Soloist\, has made Temple Beth El her spiritual home over the past ten years. Previously\, she was a cantorial soloist at Temple Beth Am in Margate\, serving for five years as their first female clergy. Michelle pursued an operatic career\, attending prestigious vocal programs such as the Peabody Conservatory\, Indiana University and the Sarasota and Cincinnati Young Artist Programs. Michelle has earned esteemed awards including Fellowship Artist to the Brevard Music Center and an Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera Association. In 2007\, Michelle delved into the world of composing\, and produced and performed on her first CD entitled “The Music in Me.” In 2010\, Michelle was recognized by “Shalshelet\,” the Foundation for New Jewish Music\, for two of her original compositions. Her pieces are also published in Transcontinental Publishing’s “Shabbat Anthologies.”
