DESCRIPTION:Interested in a deeper understanding of the basics of Jewish life or thinking about converting to Judaism? Then Temple Beth El’s Introduction to Judaism class might be for you. This 18-session weekly course taught by our clergy with other experts in the community covers topics such as holidays\, customs\, life-cycle events\, values\, theology\, prayers and rituals\, Jewish texts\, history\, and Hebrew. \nIntroduction to Judaism is open to Jews and non-Jews alike. Often\, a Jewish partner\, friend\, or family member will choose to accompany the prospective convert to the classes. This class is also useful for non-Jews who do not intend to convert but are interested in learning more about Judaism. It is also helpful for people who were born and raised as Jews but feel as though they never received a solid Jewish education. All are welcome. \nPlease note: this is not a drop-in course. DESCRIPTION:Interested in a deeper understanding of the basics of Jewish life or thinking about converting to Judaism? Then Temple Beth El’s Introduction to Judaism class might be for you. This 18-session weekly course taught by our clergy with other experts in the community covers topics such as holidays\, customs\, life-cycle events\, values\, theology\, prayers and rituals\, Jewish texts\, history\, and Hebrew. \nIntroduction to Judaism is open to Jews and non-Jews alike. Often\, a Jewish partner\, friend\, or family member will choose to accompany the prospective convert to the classes. This class is also useful for non-Jews who do not intend to convert but are interested in learning more about Judaism. It is also helpful for people who were born and raised as Jews but feel as though they never received a solid Jewish education. All are welcome. \nPlease note: this is not a drop-in course. Interested families should fill out the form below\, once we see we have enough interest\, we will send flight details for families to purchase before the deadline.  \nTrip dates: December 22 – 31\, 2025 \nGet ready for an unforgettable\, one-of-a-kind journey to Israel—exclusively for Beth El Teens! This trip is for 10th-12th graders who are alumni or current students of our Temple Beth El Confirmation class. This incredible trip is generously subsidized by the Temple Beth El Teen Travel to Israel Fund\, making it more affordable than ever. \nCost Explanation \nFamilies are responsible for:\n– A deposit of $1000 per child by Sept 19\, 2025. Of the $1000 deposit we are asking families to pay per participant\, $500 will be refundable after the trip assuming your child does attend the trip. If your child does not go on the trip\, the full $1000 deposit will become nonrefundable after September 19\, 2025.\n– Flights for their children\, via El Al\, approx. $2000 round trip\n– Purchasing travel insurance for their child’s trip\, approx. $100\n– 2 meals a day in Israel\, approx. $30-$50/day\n– Tips for driver and tour guide – approx. $20/day\nTotal anticipated costs for families per student: $3100-$3300 \nPlease note: The total cost of this trip is approximately $6\,500 per student.  Temple Beth El’s Israel Teen Travel Fund is covering $2\,780 of that total\, and the remainder (approximately $3\,720) is the responsibility of the participants.
