Julie Cooper

Engagement & Programming Manager

Formerly from West Orange, NJ, Julie began her career in education, teaching and later becoming the director of a privately owned group of schools in NJ.

Julie relocated to Florida in 1992, starting her family shortly thereafter. After taking some time to focus on parenthood, she embraced her creative side by designing and selling floral displays that could be found in many hotels including the Fontainbleau, the Hotel Colonnade, and the Delano.

After over 10 years in the design and wholesale gift industry, Julie shifted her focus to parenting in order to manage the development and care of her youngest child, Danny who has autism spectrum disorder. This eventually led to her work with Autism Speaks, where she utilized her strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills to develop and coordinate their walks in South Florida.

Julie joined the Temple in 2001, and has been on staff almost that long. In her role, Julie is responsible for the creation and management of Beth El Circles and helps create, plan and execute other programs and dinners that create opportunities to connect members to each other.

Whenever possible, Julie enjoys spending time in the pool or at the beach with her husband Terry and her son Danny, and visiting with family, especially her son Matt and his wife Liz who live in Austin, TX.
