Susan Podolsky
VP of Membership & Engagement

Susan Podolsky and her husband, Barry, have been members of Temple Beth El since 1986.  Susan grew up in Skokie, Illinois, attended Northern Illinois University where she received her BA in History and Art and the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington where she received her teaching degree. Her career as a high school teacher provided the platform for Susan to follow several career paths including her appointment as the Director of the Russian Resettlement for Rales JFS, the wonderful years working with fellow TBE members, as Treatment Coordinator for Peter Wohlgemuth, DMD and Marketing Coordinator for Ken Mogell, DMD to the creation of an independent college counseling practice with Barbara Leventhal.  Behind her career growth was a spirit of community activism and volunteerism.   She has served on the Boards of the Michael Ann Russell JCC, the Rales JFS, and Jewish Education Commission, led missions to Israel and Spain with Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County while volunteering to tutor, mentor and nourish teenagers and families for various community organizations. 

 Susan began her volunteer service at TBE as a member of the Youth and Ed Committee and later taught Sunday School.  She and Barry Co-chaired the first Torah Project Dinner Dance and many other TBE fundraisers and programs.  In 2006, she worked with many members to bring Art Gala, a year-long arts program to TBE, and since then she has been honored to chair the Art Task Force in the selection and acquisition of art for the Mausoleum, and the Beck Family and the Schaefer Family Campuses.  Former VP of Membership and later VP of Development, honored recipient of the Joseph Q. Kline Volunteer of the Year Award in 2018, proud Mom of Brian, Gail and Kim and Grandmother to Riley and Jamie, Susan is very excited to return to the Board of Directors as VP:  Membership and Engagement.
