Ross Glinkenhouse is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Design/Technical Theatre. After university, he spent a year as an intern at the Juilliard School for Dance, Drama and Music, working with their production department in the “Electrics Shop”. In that year he discovered his passion for Jewish Experiential Education. Spending many summers at the URJ Crane Lake Camp helped affirm his passion for education. In all, Ross spent 12 summers working at CLC in various positions, Director of Outdoor Education being his favorite.
In 2012 Ross received a Certificate in Jewish Education for Adolescents and Emerging Adults from the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion. He worked for the Woodlands Community Temple, White Plains, NY, from 2008-2015, serving as the Youth Director. This position required him to work with a variety of age groups and institute age appropriate programming. While in his tenure at WCT, Ross led Civil Rights Journeys in the south, lobbying seminars to Washington D.C. coordinated three installments of Shulhouse Rock now NFTY Nashir, and partnered with his teens and lay leaders to re-imagine and invigorate what youth programming looks within the community. For the past four years Ross worked for an International Teen organization, building community and implementing youth programs.
On his spare time, Ross is an avid rock climber and and enjoys competing. Along with climbing, he enjoys flying, challenge course facilitation, watching cute kitten/otter videos, and lazy mornings. And, if you were wondering what his favorite smell is… It’s camp fire!
In all Ross is excited to bring a sense of “Play” as a foundation for community engagement!
