Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah Program

We want our students to feel that one of the best parts of their childhood was being at Temple Beth El. That their closest friends were from classes and youth group, that they come back to our faculty, staff and clergy for advice, and look to the adults in the community as role models. And that they love being Jewish, in their own authenic ways.

The Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony is a beautiful milestone in a child’s formal Jewish education. It symbolizes the intellectual, emotional and moral passage from childhood into adolescence, and is a proud and memorable moment that provide meaningful memories for years to come.

Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah at Temple Beth El

Temple Beth El’s unparalleled Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah Program provides each child with the opportunity to discover and hone his or her own unique talents and interests. The preparation culminates with an individual Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah ceremony reflecting each student’s personal strengths.  Individualized tutoring that begins about a year prior to the Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah date is part of our comprehensive Jewish education approach.

The handbook below is your guide to the final steps in becoming a Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah at Temple Beth El, including:

  • Individualized Bar Mitzvah & Bat Mitzvah tutoring
  • Bar and Bat Mitzvah kiddush, catering and service planning

At Temple Beth El, there is no additional Bar or Bat Mitzvah fee!

Temple membership is required, but there is no additional building fund.
