Cantor Lori Brock has been a cherished member of the Temple Beth El family since 1991 and served on its clergy team from 1997–2026, first as Cantorial Soloist and later as Senior Cantor. On July 1, 2026, she became Temple Beth El’s Cantor Emerita, continuing to serve the congregation through pastoral care, teaching, life-cycle officiation, and special programs.
Throughout her nearly three decades on the clergy team, Cantor Brock helped shape the spiritual and musical identity of Temple Beth El. Passionate about vibrant, inspiring Jewish music, she transformed the congregation’s music program and worship experience, creating innovative services and meaningful opportunities for congregational participation. She was instrumental in developing many of Temple Beth El’s signature worship experiences, holiday productions, and cultural programs.
A visionary leader, Cantor Brock founded and nurtured Temple Beth El’s Friends of Music and the Arts, helping to establish a thriving Jewish cultural center that has enriched the lives of countless congregants and community members. Her creativity and commitment brought concerts, lectures, films, and artistic experiences that broadened the congregation’s understanding of Jewish culture and spirituality.
Cantor Brock is a graduate of the Cantorial Certification Program at the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music at Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion, where she earned the title of Cantor in 2016. She is a member of the American Conference of Cantors, has led worship at its national convention, presented on Visual T’filah at the Union for Reform Judaism Biennial, and served on the faculty of both URJ Kutz Camp and URJ Camp Coleman.
Before entering Jewish communal service, Cantor Brock enjoyed a successful career in theater, film, and commercials and remains a member of Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
Cantor Brock is married to her husband, George, and is the proud mother of Lizzie and Adam. Together with their beloved cockapoos, Harry and Sally, they divide their time between Boca Raton and Charlevoix, Michigan.
