Derek is an experienced fundraising and marketing professional with extensive familiarity in the not-for-profit sector. He began his professional career in marketing and sales for a Fortune 100 company brokering high-volume sales and strategic partnerships. He joins the Temple Beth El Family after 12 years as Chief Marketing Officer of the Alpert Jewish Family Service in West Palm Beach. Derek is committed to cultivating partnerships and relationships with donors which will have a profound and lasting impact on our congregation and Jewish community. Raised in Palm Desert, California, and Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Derek later played Division I College Golf on Scholarship at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Derek holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. In addition to his work history, he has presented locally, nationally and internationally on topics ranging from fund acquisition and brand development to creating and enhancing organizational structure and culture around multi-generational workplaces. A resident of Palm Beach County for the past 15 years, Derek has enjoyed working to build a stronger, more inclusive Jewish community. He is an avid golfer and plays many of the Florida State Golf Association’s premier amateur events. Derek has two Shelties, Madison and Jackson.
