Heather Erez, RJE (Reform Jewish Educator) comes to us from Northern California. After receiving her Bachelors from California State University, Chico in Liberal Studies with a minor in Modern Jewish and Israel Studies, she moved to Kibbutz Tzora in Israel to teach. Upon her return to the states she became the Assistant Director at San Francisco Hillel where she worked for 9 years. Following her passion for Jewish education, she went back to school at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion to get her Masters in Religious Education in the inaugural year of the Executive Masters of Arts program. She came to Temple Beth El after 5 years of running the religious and Hebrew school at Congregation Emanu-El. Heather is also a current board member of the Association of Reform Jewish Educators.
Heather, along with her husband, Shachar, are the proud parents of Noam and Eden. As a family they like to explore new places, talk in funny accents, cuddle, and play games.
