Formerly from South Africa, Janice began her technology career as a computer programmer/analyst at Shell Oil. After 12 years, she emigrated to South Florida where she consulted part-time as a corporate technology trainer for five years, while simultaneously managing her family jewelry business.
When the opportunity presented itself to pivot her career to the non-profit sector, Janice joined Donna Klein Jewish Academy (DKJA) as the Director of Technology. She individually initiated and implemented the school-wide technology network and educational technology curriculum, which ultimately became one of the school’s signature programs. She grew and managed the department of five technology professionals for 25 years, constantly evolving and implementing new strategies and initiatives in the ever-changing world of technology. She represented DKJA at many national conferences, including a world educational technology convention in China in 2008.
In 2019 Janice joined Temple Beth El. She successfully led and implemented the migration of the Temple’s CRM database to its current platform, which she manages. She enjoys collaborating and assisting the TBE family with their database and technology needs.
Janice is happily married for 45 years to Harold, a Master jeweler. They have two adult sons, Darren and Wayne. They all enjoy golfing, pickleball, jogging and family time together.
