An Evening with October 7 Kibbutz Survivor Dorin Rai Zaffrir – A Story of Survival, a Journey of Hope

On October 7, 2023 Dorin Rai Zaffrir, her husband and three young children went through one of the most horrific experiences any family could possibly imagine; they were trapped in the safe room in their home, on Kibbutz Nir Oz, for over 12 hours while Hamas terrorists broke into their house – shooting and destroying their sacred home. Because of her husband, Bijay, the safe room door remained shut and all of them survived. They were the lucky ones, while many of their dearest friends and family, including the Bibas family, were either taken hostage or killed.
On Thursday evening, January 14 in conversation with Senior Cantorial Leader Michelle Cohen, come bear witness to her incredible story of how she and her family survived that tragic day; what they are doing now, and what it means to live in a post-October 7 world. It is an incredible story of courage, resilience, and hope.
