Jewish LIfe
What is Jewish life, if not a combination of tradition, spirituality, culture, food, and knowledge?
Whether you define “Living Jewish” as attending Shabbat services, sending your children to religious school, getting involved in Social Justice initiatives, joining a Temple music ensemble, or gathering together with your Temple family for a delicious holiday meal, there is a way for you to feel connected and at home, living Jewishly with Temple Beth El.
Shabbat Services
There is nothing quite like the spirit of Shabbat on Friday evenings at Temple Beth El! We welcome Shabbat with prayer, song, and meaning; read the weekly Torah portion; and include a blend of traditional Hebrew and contemporary English liturgy. We enjoy honoring our B’nai Mitzvah families on the Shabbat before the big day, as well as celebrate milestone birthdays and anniversaries.
We welcome the congregation and community to celebrate Shabbat with us each Friday at the Schaefer Family Campus or online on Virtual Beth El. Our services are streamed via our Facebook, YouTube, and Livestream. Please see the service schedule for weekly times.
Holidays
Holidays at Temple Beth El are special, combining tradition, music and a little bit of creativity. From “Chanukah Under the Stars” at Mizner Park to our zany Purim spiels to our incredible story-telling, Passover seders, we come together to bring new meaning and enjoyment to the traditions of our past.
Music & Culture
A balance of traditional Jewish music blended with contemporary styles encourages participation from the whole congregation, raising our prayers to a higher level of spirituality. Our Cantorial team, musical groups and guest professional musicians create a feeling of ruach (spirit) that helps to make Shabbat and holiday experiences more vibrant and more meaningful.
We also have music ensembles available for adults, kids and teens. If music is your passion, Beth El is the place to be! We have many opportunities for you or your children to grow your passion for musical expression.
Beth El
Stands with Israel
Temple Beth El unequivocally supports the State of Israel as an inseparable part of our Jewish identity and heritage.
Find opportunities to take meaningful action in support of Israel, learn about upcoming events that celebrate and educate about Israel, and be inspired by the teachings of our clergy. Additionally, we provide a range of resources to help deepen your understanding and connection to Israel.
Social Justice
Social Action + Civic Engagement = Social Justice
Inspired by words in our Torah that teach us to not stand idly by, to love the stranger, and to pursue justice, our Social Justice work has had a lasting impact over Temple Beth El’s five-decade history, making our world a better place.
Through our Social Justice work, we endeavor to Repair the World – Tikkun Olam. We envision a world that is more fair, a world without poverty, homelessness, discrimination or inequality. And we are willing to do the work to get there.
