Todd comes to Temple Beth El after serving for 18 years as a Cantorial Associate at Temple Solel in Paradise Valley, Arizona where music was central to worship, learning, and congregational life across generations.
He is an accomplished composer and performer who has appeared nationally and internationally, sharing Jewish music in synagogues, conferences, schools, and cultural settings around the world. His original compositions have been featured in television and film, and are known throughout the Reform movement.
In Arizona, Todd founded and curates the Desert Gathering Jewish Music Fest, an annual celebration bringing together diverse Jewish artists and communities for learning, inspiration, and joyful communal song.
Education and teaching are central parts of Todd’s professional life. He has taught at the New Community Jewish High School, served as an instructor at “Songleader Boot Camp,” and been an Artist-in-Residence with the JCC Maccabi ArtsFest, working with students and adults to explore the intersection of music, spirituality, and Jewish text.
Todd studied in a dual-degree program at Tufts University and the New England Conservatory of Music, earning degrees in Philosophy and Jazz Vocal Performance. In recent years, he has studied at the Academy for Jewish Religion in pursuit of rabbinical ordination.
