This week’s portion, Ki Tavo says, “the heart to know, eyes to see and ears to hear.” 1 in 40 Ashkenazi Jewish men and women carry hereditary genetic mutations that can markedly increase their lifetime risk of developing cancer, and most don’t know. This Shabbat we will learn more about testing for genetic mutations for Breast and Ovarian cancer and the impact on the Jewish community. Knowledge is power, knowledge saves lives.
