What is Give Kids The World?
“Give Kids The World Village is an 89-acre, nonprofit “storybook” resort in Central Florida. Here, children with critical illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free vacations.” From the GKTW Website
Give Kids The World (GKTW) is able to run as it is with the help of hundreds of volunteers each year. Volunteers could be scooping ice cream for breakfast, helping to run some of their rides like a carousel. Most shifts for our teens will be working in the main dining hall. We could be serving food to individuals, holding trays for kids and their families as they go through the lines (with the added bonus getting to interact with the families), going around giving coffee and hot coco…

Here is what you need to know our trip.
- Date: Friday, January 12 – Monday, January 15.
- Where are we staying? An Airbnb About 5 minutes from Give Kids The World
- Cost: $315 Temple Members $375 Non Temple Members (price could go up if the teens decide they rather go to Disney vs. Universal).
- Cost may go up if teens choose to go to Disney instead of Universal.
- Cost Includes: Lodging, transportation, breakfasts, pizza Saturday night, ticket to Universal.
- Meals NOT included: Friday on drive to Orlando, Saturday lunch, Sunday meals at Universal and food on our stop on the way home.
- Transportation: Ross and Rabbi Elana will be driving a rented SUV and Van. Participants must turn in a signed transportation waiver to participate (Click here to get the waiver).
- How many shifts are we volunteering for? Three shifts that will last between 3-4 hours. Two on Saturday and one on Sunday morning.
- How many volunteer hours will I be receiving? 15+
- Are we going to a Theme Park? Yes, we will meet other Jewish teens at one of the Universal Parks on Sunday after we volunteer.
- Cancellation and Refund Policy: If your teen is unable to attend, we will be able to give a full refund before December 12. After that date only if we are able to fill your spot with another participant.
- Waivers: Participants must fill out Give Kids the World forms which includes watching orientation videos (count part of the service hours). Click here to start the forms (our group name is Temple Beth El of Boca Raton).
- Limited Spots: We have only 16 spots for teens on this trip and is first come.
