Beth El Talks

Saturday, October 12 at 2:00pm at Temple Beth El Schaefer Family Campus

Join us Yom Kippur Afternoon at 2:00pm for Beth El Talks, our community’s opportunity to draw inspiration from the stories and journeys of fellow Temple Beth El members.

Mariya Kemper-Reiss

Born in Ukraine, Mariya’s family left for the United States to start a new life free from the persecution they knew in the former Soviet Union. Her evolving connection to her Ukrainian roots inspired her to organize relief efforts to support victims of the Russian war against her former homeland. Mariya will share her remarkable journey and the efforts she has made to make a difference in war-torn Ukraine.

Jonathan Grayer

Jonathan founded Imagine Learning in 2011 which is now the largest digital curriculum company in the US. Imagine Learning provides increasingly individualized, datadriven learning materials with rich, engaging content to help teachers teach better, students learn more, and parents help consistently. At the center of the next stage of growth will be the role generative AI plays in shaping all ways that the educational system is designed, built and run. Jonathan will share how his passion for education and the growth of emerging technologies will transform how we learn and how we educate future generations.

Jessica Eichler

A primary care physician, Jessica’s career has specialized in palliative care. Working with patients and their families at the end of life has given Jessica a unique window into what life really means, and how we approach the end of life. Jessica will share what inspired her to work in this remarkable specialty, and will offer her wisdom in how we can best reconcile our mortality and how we can help ourselves and our loved ones to maximize the quality of life in our last weeks, months, and years.
