With a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Communications from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, Helayne brings decades of experience, as a writer for print, broadcasting, publishing and public relations to Temple Beth El. She spent the majority of her career as the head writer/producer of the CBS Worldwide nationally syndicated Mr. Food television news segment, starring Art Ginsburg, which was seen by millions of viewers daily in over 160 TV markets on the local network news.
Following the passing of Mr. Ginsburg, she joined Temple Beth El in two roles; that of greeting and assisting guests in the Schaefer Family Campus Welcome Center, as well as a member of the Marketing & Communications team for, proofreading, writing and media outreach.
As a freelance writer, she has co-authored a dog rescue book and covered a multitude of topics for business and lifestyle, currently focusing on genealogy, capturing family histories.
Helayne was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and has resided in south Florida since attending college, where she met her husband. They share a married daughter and a teenage grandson who celebrated his Bar Mitzvah here at Temple Beth El; and she enjoys spending time with family, friends and traveling.
